Travels

I've been on the road for 2 weeks now, visiting friends and family in Sacramento, San Francisco, New York City, San Diego and L.A. I have TONS of pictures, but haven't had a chance to download and edit any photos (which I am dying to do). New York was amazing of course, the weather was stormy and warm and the city was alive. I just went to the San Diego Zoo to see mainly my favorite wild animal, you guessed it....GIANT PANDAS. I was so excited, like 5 year old girl excited. Like pushing old people and small children out of the way excited. Nah, I acted like a normal adult and waited in line patiently to see an adult and one baby panda. The adult was sleeping. Boring. The baby, however, was ADORABLE. All pudgy and doing somersaults. Laying on his back and eating bamboo. DYING. Seriously, I died and went to panda heaven. I'm totally buying the ultimate pandas dvd so I can relive this moment in time over and over and over. Also so I can dispel the rumor that I am a total cat lady. I have two obsessions people: Cats and Pandas.

So I can't wait to start posting blogs about my travels and share all the amazing things I've seen along the way. It's been beautiful and refreshing and just what I needed. So until then, hasta la proxima!

Arts Alive Show with Mobile Medical Office

Recently I teamed up with the Mobile Medical Office for an Arts Alive show in Eureka documenting the work they do and the community they serve. The Mobile Medical Office is a doctor's office on wheels that stops all over Humboldt County to meet the needs of people who might otherwise not be able to have access to any form of healthcare. The work is hanging in the Eureka HealthSPORT by the Bay for the time being. Here is some of what is hanging and some of what is not.

This first photo is of the main Dr. who started this out of the back of her pick up truck 20 years ago. So incredible.

Birds of Prey

Godwit Days was the past few days in Arcata, but I wasn't interested in them, I went out to see the birds of prey they had out of cages for the public to view at the community center. I was excited at the opportunity see these large birds up close and personal. They are really beautiful animals.

A Wedding

I was asked to take pictures for a friend's wedding, following are my favorite shots that I captured. Kids make such great subjects because they are so uninhibited. Free and honest. We lose that somewhere along the way to adulthood.

Trinidad Head Beach

Gorgeous day at the beach, warm & sunny, not more you can ask for on a Friday afternoon...well maybe for the warmth to last after the sun goes down. But this is Humboldt...so no dice.

The first signs of spring

You know spring is right around the corner when these babies start popping up. Elegant, pure and simple.
