Mad River Beach

Today was a warm mostly sunny day and since there were no tsunami warnings, we packed up and headed out to Mad River Beach. I like this beach because the drive there is usually cool (with cows and huge green pastures) and there are lots of sand dunes and...more cows. I like listening to the waves and the mooing of a cow at the same time.

It's hard to tell how photos look until you get home due to the blinding brightness of the sun, so here's some of what I shot today, not anything special, but I had fun.

It's a Sunny Day

So, it's finally sunny (after a torrential downpour yesterday) and I had the opportunity to test out my new camera in the sunshine today (and not gray blahness)! I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the camera (only halfway through the manual), but so far its been so much fun! I can't wait for a really good sunset at the beach now...here are some shots I've taken so far...I'm still learning, and my test subjects at hand are the cat and dog so please forgive the repetitive animal shots.

A new year

Hola!!! First off, I decided I am too lazy to have a cooking blog. Yes, I know I eat and cook everday, but documenting said eating and cooking, well that's more work than I am willing to do at this point (ahem, working full time, exercising, pondering life, maintaining relationships, chilling with my cat, etc.). So, I've decided that I like blogging, but not only about one thing, so I'm expanding my little blog to pretty much whatever I feel like writing about. Hopefully it's interesting to some people and maybe even useful and/or funny. We'll see.

Also, big news in my universe, I am getting a new camera. A digital SLR. F yes. The holy grail for us little point and shoot users. I think it's a good deal (and right now it's on sale) and it's from Costco, so if this thing decides to crap out on me, I get to walk in the store and whine my way to a new camera. I heart Costco.

2010 is going to be AWESOME. I can feel it in my bones. I'm on a new workout kick, with a new gym partner, don't worry we'll be bikini ready in 6-8 weeks. I also want to get into fantastic shape so I can attack some mountains this summer. That's right, not just trudge slowly, ATTACK.

So here's to a new year and a semi-new blog. This one will match my slight ocd/add tendencies better.
